How to Really Connect With Your Kids: Do It Now

The following are simple magical ways of rekindling your relationship with your kids: Assist your kids in assembling jig-saws.
Chill out with your kids on a large bean bag, I have a large red bean bag that accommodates one adult and three kids, it does the trick, it brings us together as one and the kids love it.

Introduce your kids to preparing and baking chocolate cookies, this is great fun, when we did this, the kids were covered in chocolate, what a mess, be sure to have your aprons at the ready.

Allow your kids to put on make up, while this is a messy exercise, the kids get a real laugh out of it.

Ask your kids to assist you in the garden, planting seeds and bulbs, watering the plants and monitoring the progress of their efforts, seeing bulbs and seeds growing onto real flowers is very exciting to kids.
The fun really starts when they start to weed the garden, the younger kids are really more inclined to pluck nice colourful flowers, it is a learning process and it should be all taken in good spirits.

Get your kids colouring and painting pictures, afterwords they get the honour of displaying their art work on the walls. The Internet is a good source of material for these purposes. Allow your kids to enact their favourite characters, your input here is vital, as you provide outfits and accessories, why not dress up yourself and let yourself go.

Read bedtime stories to your kids and allow them to read you stories also. Treat your kids to visit to the cinema to view the latest and hottest movies.

It has been said that a ball is the worlds greatest toy, play ball with your kids.
Browse through a toy catalogue and discuss with them what toys are top of their list.
Ask your kids what games or activities they would like to do with you, be open to new ideas and get with the programme. Connecting with your kids when they are young is a unique opportunity to bond with them, as they are not going to stay young forever, in their early years, it is your time and attention that they want, when they are older, they most likely prefer to do their own thing and hanging out with their parents may not be so cool.

So enjoy this time with your kids.
